Goodbye forWord

Now although today marks the start of a joyous month-long celebration for poetry, we have unfortunately been undergoing some internal problems as a collective. Without getting into too much detail, we have set differences with what our aspirations and goals are which limit us to move forward as forWord. As of today, we are disbanding forWord. We shall continue to write and perform poetry as individuals, but as a group, we have decided to part ways.

We have grown so much over the year. It is hard to believe it’s only been a year since we joined forces. We wish everyone the best and we would like you to know we appreciate all the love you gave us. We love you all!

Please do not let this bring you down and remember that today marks National Poetry Month! Celebrate! Appreciate! Create! If you don’t know, now you KNOW!

Thank you!

- Susan Diep
- Eddy M. Gana Jr.
- Mark Maza
- Stephanie Sajor

Happy Birthday, Stephanie Sajor!

One of the four members of forWord, this is Stephanie’s poem, “Chalk Days,” ringing nostalgia to our senses. Reminding us of childhood, here’s to another year of growth!

Interesting Fact: Everything you see here designed on this website is her creation. Not only an avid writer, she is forWord’s webmaster and graphic designer!

Two members of forWord, Eddy M. Gana Jr. and Stephanie Sajor, are amongst this lovely talented cast of poets! It is an honor for us to be performing on the same set as the critically acclaimed production, “Short Eyes”, written by Miguel Piñero.

Censorship is spreading like a rumor. But unlike one, it is true. It is happening. Let’s take a stand and speak out!

Chalk Days by Stephanie Sajor (of forWord)

This is an original spoken word piece performed at the Speak Easy Open Mic in Downtown Los Angeles on April 25th, 2011.

I believe that everyone has a story to tell. “Chalk Days” is one of mine.
