Still running off the energy from two nights ago. Looking back real quick, it has been one hell of an inspiring week for us. SO MUCH POETRY.
On Saturday, May 28th, forWord performed at Rooted Minds presents: The Healer: “Recognition of True Expression” at The Talking Stick Coffee Lounge in Venice, CA. This was our second feature, but our first time having a full set of 20 minutes. We were the main features for the night with Syreeta Neal and Ultra Love.

There were also many other talented artists who graced the stage, such as Karla Moxley, Matt Sedillo, Nashon Duffey-Divine, Jennie Laws, Kenyon Dixon, and more. O.Smith was the host for the evening, always highly energetic and welcoming, who was accompanied by a live band performing improve music throughout the night.

forWord had an awesome time performing on stage and sharing our stories with everyone! Thanks to Mark for all these pictures. Mark performed too, but here is what we have:

All in all, we enjoyed all the acts before and after us. Everyone brought their positive energy and it surely filled the room fast. It was a beautiful evening. Much love to our friends who were able to drive all the way to support us: Alex, Caitlin, Big Brotha, Antonio, Noise, and Kasi. Also thanks to Kasi (candid picture below) and Antonio for buying our first chapbook!

So much love all around. We all had a blast connecting with this community. So many wonderful people. Thank you for the opportunity to share our spoken word poetry with you all. We are looking forward to working with Rooted Minds again in the future. So thank you, Chanel, Nissany, Brandi, O. Smith, and the entire Rooted Minds family! And thank you everyone for your continuous support!
