Two members of forWord, Eddy M. Gana Jr. and Stephanie Sajor, are amongst this lovely talented cast of poets! It is an honor for us to be performing on the same set as the critically acclaimed production, “Short Eyes”, written by Miguel Piñero.

Censorship is spreading like a rumor. But unlike one, it is true. It is happening. Let’s take a stand and speak out!

Two members of forWord, Stephanie Sajor and Eddy M. Gana Jr. made it past auditions and will be in the Urban Theatre Movement’s next production! Stephanie and Eddy were former cast members in SP!T 2 with Mark Maza and subsequently SP!T 3 with Mark and Susan Diep representing in full force as forWord. Feels good to be home so please come through and support for the third time around the block!

This show is for everyone who values the freedom to express!

URBAN THEATRE MOVEMENT Presents SHORT EYES by Miguel Piñero

Support SHORT EYES by Miguel Pinero, the first play by a Latino playwright to be produced on Broadway (1974). By way of donations, please help the Urban Theatre Movement, who welcomed us into the SP!T series, bring SHORT EYES to the Los Angeles Theatre Center on November 18th, 2011!

There are 12 days to go. They have 82 backers and have raised $3,615. Any contribution to their $8,000 goal is essential in them honoring their financial commitment toward the production.

Reflection: SP!T 3

This reflection is extremely late… we were waiting on the official pictures to come out, but they never did. So instead, take a look at some of the pics Mark took backstage!

On June 30, 2011, forWord joined the cast of SP!T 3, this time with all four members of our collective!

It was great to team up with SP!T cast old and new to put on this show, directed by a good friend of ours, Alex Alfaro, who we know from our Uncultivated Rabbits origins.

What made this show unique was the mixing of spoken word, hip hop, and acoustic performances in the lineup. What also made this really awesome was that the event took place at a theater right in the heart of Los Angeles.

SP!T is a wonderful experience for any performing artist, and I would encourage anyone to try out if they have the chance!

-Stephanie Sajor
