“And Away She Ran”
And away she ran
She ran from the issues
The problems and with it
She took her pain
Packed up in a red and blue pouch
A pouch that is the size of one’s fist
And she refuses to let anyone inside
Yet she’s such a passive aggressive
To the point where she herself
Cannot seem to realize
That she has begun to affect
The loved ones around her
She’s like a soda bottle
An ice queen that
Has been unopened
Letting the all these
Bullshit things shake her up
And when she becomes blinded most
Someone will try their best
To open her up
Asking her to reveal what’s
Inside the red and blue pouch
But she’s been so tense
From all the shit
People have been giving her
And she’ll explode
Unload all the pain
On the innocent hand
And the whack part is
She’ll never know
Who
What
When
Or where
But definitely she’ll
Never understand Why-RZX
Listen to this poem written and recorded by an old friend and Uncultivated Rabbits alum, Matthew Nguyen-Truong. Expect a possible collaborative poem with him and one of the members of forWord as well.
March is ending and April is coming up. If you did not know, April is officially National Poetry Month. Thus forWord will soon be celebrating each and every day with spoken word poetry-related updates. We also have new material awaiting release. I know it has been awhile since we published our own poetry (written, audio, or video), but what better time to do so than April?
